I decided to pay a long overdue visit to my poor, neglected blog. Y'all. Life has been crazy. Hence the lack of blogging.
Why has life been crazy? Um....we kinda moved to Louisiana. Oh...and we are homeless and jobless.
Moving to LA has always been in our plans. Over this last winter, we talked a lot about selling the house and moving this summer. So, when winter was almost over, we found a realtor (who was amazing, by the way) and got ready to sell. For two weeks, we worked hard to de-clutter, spruce up, and stage our house. Then, for about 3 more weeks, we worked hard to keep our house picture perfect for potential buyers. And then...the best offer ever came in. It was like God was saying "time to hit the road, McCormicks."
And so, we did. The last few weeks have been filled with saying goodbyes, finishing jobs, packing, applying for new jobs, looking for new houses, tears, excitement, stress, celebration, etc. See why I have disappeared from blog land?
Leaving Ohio has been one of the hardest things I've ever done. We had an amazing life there and despite the wretched winter we had this year, I am going to miss it terribly. I had a job I loved, friends who rocked my world, awesome family, the best neighbors ever, a daycare who loved my babies like their own, and a house I made our home. I didn't even know how to tell them goodbye, so I said "see you later" instead.
Even though we left so much behind, we know we have so much to look forward to in this new phase of our lives. We are so excited about being even closer to family and friends and are looking forward to making our home in Ruston. We still have a ways to go before we feel settled, but we are excited to see where this adventure takes us.
We can't even say thank you enough for all of the help we have had so far. The packing, baby watching, coffee dates, and prayers have made everything so much easier. We have been so blessed to have so many amazing people in our lives. And hopefully some of them will move to Ruston soon too...ahem. You know who you are...
So here we are. Homeless (thank goodness for parents with spare rooms and an awesome realtor in Ruston) and jobless. Stay tuned to see what happens next!
